This post is about the new updated Quansheng that looks very similar to the UV K5 8. The most noticeable difference on first look is of course the colour. This one is a bright light green. But internally it is a bit different to the normal UV K5 8. It has 512KB expanded memory and upgraded Quansheng firmware. doppler, spectrum analyzer, better scanning features, SMS texting, multi-mode functions, more filtering, wireless frequency copy, and a reported improved receive capability over the standard UV K5 8.

This model is the official upgraded version. I say this because there are some listings that look very similar to this model, which are available in darker green and orange that look great, but are not upgraded internally like this one. Those are just normal UV K5 8’s with a different housing colour. They do look cool though. Also, please note: the upgraded lime green version does not come with a desktop charger, only a type C cable for USB charging. There are several bundle deals to choose from that come with various accessories, like microphone, Aco headset, extended tactical antenna etc. But none of them come with a desktop charger.
