SMA-Female Antenna for Baofeng UV-5R / Quansheng

The ABBREE AR-771T Dual Band long antenna has turned out to be a real winner in performance. Better range and sound quality than that from many stock antennas. I was quite surprised at how good it has been. It is an excellent antenna for the price. It’s a great upgrade for someone who is using an original stock antenna that came with their radio. The frequency range [as printed on the bottom of the antenna] is: FM 136 – 174MHz / 400 – 480MHz. Great for 2 meters, 70cm and PMR. However, as an added bonus it seems to work quite well at 200MHz also. Furthermore, it also works really well for DMR [digital signals]. I’m using mine on a Baofeng 1701. And for those not aware of the 1701, this is digital [DMR] and analogue transceiver radio combined, and the antenna has been very impressive with both analogue and digital signals on that radio.

The connection is SMA Female, so perfect for many walkie talkies / radios such as the Baofeng UV 5R range, Mini 5, BF-A58S, UV-B5, B6 etc. And Quansheng’s K1, K5, K6. No adapter needed. The ABBREE AR-771T is available in black or orange. I went with the orange for something a bit different. Both colours have a see-through / transparent lower base which is pretty cool.

Here are some quick review comment quotes from other buyers.

“I don’t know if it was luck, but I’ve never seen such a good antenna, both for VHF and UHF. It’s much better than the Nagoya 771 and the original one on the Radtel 950-Pro.”

“Very good on 2m 1.1swr, on 70cm about 1,6 at 440mhz as lowest, and that is also good. Radiates good as well, almost as good as my diamond antenna.”

Reviews are generally very very good for this antenna. And my own opinion; It’s excellent, performs really well throughout the stated frequency ranges and beyond, is cheap in price, and I would not hesitate to buy a few more. Highly recommended.
