The Baofeng UV-K61 is a nice transceiver radio that closely resembles the Quansheng UV-K5 (8). They are almost identical is appearance and features. Although the Baofeng UV-K61 does have more channels than the Quansheng UV-K5 (8). 999 channels for the K61, and 200 channels for the Quansheng. Last time I checked, the Baofeng UV-K61 is not as customizable as the Quansheng in terms of firmware. Although that’s no surprise, as Baofeng’s never have been as good or compatible with modified firmware. But, I do believe the K61 is now compatible with CHIRP, so that’s something. But that’s about it. Both nice radios. However, the airband reception on the K61 out the box is quite poor. So its a bit of a mix of some good features and some bad features.

Anyway, there are two pack deals available for the Baofeng UV-K61 that come with a generous amount of accessories. There’s also the option for the correct mains plug for more countries with this deal. Such as British [UK] mains, Australia, Europe and USA. Or you can opt for a USB only connection instead. Not a bad deal overall. However, I would probably go for a two pack of either the Quansheng K6 or Baofeng UV-5R 8W rather than this model. Or maybe even a two pack of the new Quansheng K1 or Baofeng UV-5R Mini. But it depends on what you’re looking for, so the choice is yours.
