The price has dropped, and that price includes free shipping to most places in the world. With the Quansheng UV 5R Plus Walkie Talkie you get a great little radio that can both transmit and receive. Although, like the other models, it’s better at receiving than it is at transmitting in terms of coverage. It’s very similar to the UV K5 and K6 range of radios. Only difference really being the screen colour and that there is no USB-c charging port on the 5R Plus. But most people just use the included desktop charger anyway with both the UV 5R Plus and “K” model range. It works well.

The Quansheng UV 5R+ has the same range frequency as the other models mentioned, and has a 200 channel memory where frequencies can be saved and then scanned. It’s also highly modifiable, just like the other models. So installing new firmware like Egzumer or IJV is exactly the same as installing it on the other models. Very easy. Especially if using the flash from browser option for Egzumer. Just make sure to purchase the programming cable with the radio. Once upgraded the radio has a frequency range of 18MHz – 1.3GHz, has more options available, and is much nicer to use.
